The nest is in between the supports of the porch and there is an awful lot of cheeping going on at the moment. The father doesn't seem to panic as much when I go outside but he keeps a close eye on me from next door's roof

Southernbelle: Nice to see you circulating again! Strangly enough we don't seem to have so many cats around recently. The cats can't reach the nest so they are very safe.

Sounds lovely to have nature so close by, especially something as lovely as nightingales.
We have four different birds nesting in the garden, but nightingales don't get this far north.
I love when nature is close by and they know they are not in danger.
