Say "cheese"

I really shouldn’t be nibbling while I’m on the computer, but we can get a most amazing cheese at the moment. It’s called Mediterranean Gouda. It’s got all sort of teeny bits in it. I don’t understand how something that is supposed to come from Holland can be called Mediterranean. There you go…

It sounds like a wonderful snack. I wonder if we can get it here in a specialty cheese shop.

Cas: I'm certainly in the right country for cheese. we only usually get French cheeses and I miss the good old English ones

What kind of "bits" does it have in it. I love Gouda, especially when it is smoked.

You are a lucky woman to live in the land of great cheese. I live very close to Wisconsin, USA, which is known as the cheese state. Unfortunately they mean American cheese for the most part, which isn't even cheese if you ask me.

What is your favorite cheese?

I love the French cheese, especially Cantal, but we can't get it in England. The French are good at wine making, bread-making (it's lovely; to die for!) and cheese. I think they leaves us standing at the starting post!

British bread? crap! I always make my own sour-dough bread, and not with one of those bloody useless bread-makers either!

Mediterranean Holland? They're probably thinking of Scheveningen... But Gouda is OK!

Posy: i think its got tomato, olives, garlic... it smells wonderful. I don't know which is my favourite, there are so many I like, so many different textures. I don't like very strong cheeses

Keith: Would you believe me if I say that we live in the only village in france with two crap bakers? In fact one has just closed down. I'm not that keen on Cantal and I miss real cheddar.

gmg: Scheveningen! I've been there. We get goats Gouda too. (I think they might be made in France under special licence)

I love cheese but not with teeny bits

Spooky: The teeny bits are the best part of that one.
