DVD’d
Yesterday a small package arrived through the post. Rob had ordered a DVD from Amazon. It was 2nd hand and only cost 15 euros/$. We haven’t got a DVD player!! Fortunately, Olivier has an X-box (did I tell you we’d been watching the Simpsons non-stop since Christmas?).

The new DVD is Amadeus. We’ve always liked this film. Now we can watch it in English (DVD’s for the French market come with several language options, do you get that in the U.S. and U.K.?). We could also see the actors and crew talking about the making of the film, several years after, it was interesting to see how they had all aged. At the time that the film was made they had to work behind the iron curtain.

I’ve just had a little look around the internet and it seems as if the rivalry between Mozart and Salieri was a bit of a blown up story. Ironically, Salieri is known as a baddie and because of him F. Murray Abraham is often cast as a baddie.
