Breakfast anybody ?

As there was nothing much on TV last night Rob and I watched a couple of episodes of Fawlty Towers (the one with the body and the Anniversary episode). I still find them hysterically funny. Anyway, I was reminded that John Cleese blogs too, so I went and looked at his blog to see what he’s up to. He’s recently been interviewed by a bunch of young men the Idiots of Ants. I’ve never heard of them, so if you have I'm sorry, but I’m out of touch with the English comedy scene unless it’s radio. This made me laugh so I thought I’d share it

Dom bought John Cleese’s book on psychology a year or so back, I must ask her to lend it to me.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Fawlty Towers is available to us. I sure could use a couple of new shows.

In my humble opinion Fawlty Towers is the best written comedy sit-com ever to be put on british television. There are sooo many lines from that brief series that have become part of the English language. For e.g.

'Don't mention the war'
'Hello my little Pirahna fish how are you this morning'?
'He's from Barcelona'
'My God your ugly aren't you!'
F, F, F.....FIRE!!!!

I could go on......

Cleese and Palin are national treasures really. Thanks for the link to his blog.

have a great day

I've never heard of them either but that was very good. So sticks a finger in the eye of all those games!

Breakfast comedy always makes me think of the Two Ronnies and their classic breakfast sketch: www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1bJHr8t1xA and the sheer timing of it all.

Thanks Anji for a couple of things: one is for pointing out Idiots of Ants which is a name I would have found off putting; and secondly you bad girl for mentioning Spider Solitaire to me! I'd tried it before and didn't get anywhere but as you said you liked it I gave it another go and been addicted since. Tch! ;-)

Cas: It was a DVD I'm not sure how compatible the european ones are. We have to be careful what we buy in the UK as it doesn't always work here.

Helen: You are right. made more special knowing that there were only 12/13 episodes made

Doris: the ants are good, aren't they? I liked the breakfast sketch, were they not Morcambe and Wise and didn't they look young?

Sorry about the Spider Solitaire, when you're ready to be weaned off that I know of a great game of Mah Jong....
