We're having a heat wave

As I write the temperature outside is 35°C/ 95°F and the breeze is hot. It could be like this for the next 5 days. I feel sorry for anyone who is camping in a tent in this heat.

The house is reasonably cool. With careful use of the shutters as the sun moves around we can keep out the sunlight.

I hope it’s not too hot where you are. Whether or not it is, here’s something to cool you down. I couldn’t find the Carmen Miranda version so Miss Piggy is kindly stepping in.

It's pretty brisk here; quite a few tents on the field in Devon were damaged in the wind, and we had great fun wrestling with the wreckage! -pretty blooming humid, mind you.

Dru: So you have wind too. I think I'd swop with you at the moment - my glasses keep sliding off my sweaty nose.

15degrees and regular rain...

Worried about loss of vitamin D!

it's really odd; it's quite cool in the flat, and I opened the window and was hit by a hot wind. Maybe it blew here from Africa...

Caroline: Just been talking to Dom about what to take to Edinburgh. I advised warm and waterproof clothes.

Dru: We were told it was coming from the Sahara. Usually it leaves an orange dust behind, so signs of it so far.
