A day out
Yesterday Rob and I took advantage of cheap train tickets on the first Wednesday of the month and went to visit Saintes. Saintes is a town founded by the Romans and was the capital of our region around 2000 years ago. There are lots of beautiful old streets to wonder around in. (Would you believe I can’t find a good site with pictures) We had a lovely day out, but there was one thing that spoiled it for us, a freezing north-easterly wind. It’s rarely so cold here in April. The train was crowded too, full of people taking advantage of the same offer.
When we all win the lottery and you come over to visit, we’ll take you to see it.
