Cicadas
Recently on French television and the BBC radio we’ve had reports about the invasion by these insects who sleep for 17 years. During the French report we met a French man who lives in the USA and eats them. He ate one live to prove it. A Frenchman who lives in Washington DC was interviewed by the BBC. I presume it was the same Monsieur. For the benefit of English listeners he described how he cooks them ‘like snails’ in garlic, butter, herbs and shallots.
