Life goes on

Rob is now retired.  It's taking a bit of getting used to as I like to do things at my own pace and he is always on the go.  It's nice not to have to have weekends free to do things.  Shopping is done on Thursday lunch times.  He even has his share of the list to do.  He always finishes his part first.

We've got a new printer with wifi, it makes me jump when it starts printing on its own.

At the beginning of September Olivier will be getting married in the Czech republic.  Eva comes from the Eastern part of the country.  We'll be staying two nights.  I wonder what a Czech wedding will be like.

Update

I haven’t had any time this week to myself. I have an invalid at home, until the beginning of July . Rob’s arm has a tiny fracture so he doesn’t need a cast. After being strapped up for ten days he needs to get it moving again. Almost every day I have to drive him to see the physiotherapist. He’s driving me nuts – he’s not a good passenger at all. The good part about the physiotherapy sessions is that I get to read for at least 45 minutes while waiting for him. Unfortunately due to a spell of hot weather Rob has also developed a heat rash to make things even more uncomfortable. We’re sleeping better than we thought that we would, but not as well as we usually do.

Olivier is now home for the summer. He had to come home on the train and then drove us to Poitiers to pick up his things and then he drove us home. He’s a good driver. There was no way I was going to drive them on the motorway myself!

The day after Valentine's

Rob and I had been working together for over a year when he finally asked me out. He’d just been transferred to another branch of the bank that we had been working together in so it was okay for us to go out together. The bank had rules about couples working in the same branch for security reasons.

He originally asked me out on Valentine’s night, but I put him off until the next day as Tuesday night was Lady’s night and I always went out with my girl friends. I remember that it was a foggy evening and he had to come from quite a long way to see me, so he must have been keen.

The rest is history and that was 28 years ago today.
