Even though it was wet we enjoyed our morning walk. There was a meeting of marching bands being held in the park. The rehersals for that were noisy to say the least, but all of a sudden the load speakers were playing Verdi’s requiem - Dies irae, a pleasant surprise. The afternoon walk was rewarded by a pair of swans showing off their 7 sygnets. Why they are called ugly ducklings, I’ll never understand. They were so sweet and kept together with one parent in front and the other behind.

There are three birds I think to be royal: The swan, the eagle and the peacock.
I just discovered yesterday that here, in Sri Lanka, there are many peacock's. Wild ones.
Peter: I think that it would be my list too. My eldest son once spent the night in a clinic across the road from the park where there are peacocks, he didn't get much sleep.
Swans are beautiful I really love them. Sounds like you had a very nice walk. :)
A lady's life: We live very close to the marshes and the sea, every evening we hear the frogs on the marsh croaking. There are lots of other birds and it's a protected zone - we are very fortunate.
