BlogExplosion update

For those not involved with BlogExplosion sorry but this isn’t an interesting post.

A lot of us have been trying to get in touch with Live Universe who are the owners of blogexplosion. We’ve tried telephoning (not ringing), contact forms (no replies so far) and emails (no replies so far). We know from different sources that Live Universe haven’t been paying their employees either. If anyone still has the list of contacts we used last year to pester them please could you post them on the forums.

There is no one in charge of administration at the moment. The last administrator disappeared, possibly because he couldn’t get back into the system. There are still a few of us approving blogs. Unfortunately as I write we’re back to 6 weeks wait. 90% of the blogs in the queue shouldn’t be there anyway.

On behalf of those of us left approving please could anyone else who has access find a few minutes to approve 10 or so blogs from time to time. The more of us there are the easier it is all around. I know that a lot of you would like to help too, but we don't have a way to let you in to the system.

If you have time a word of support on the forums would be lovely. If anyone can think of how we can contact Live Universe we’d be grateful

To finish on a positive note, there are several members who have made it known that they’d like to buy BlogExplosion. Hopefully soon something will start to move again and the mess can be sorted out.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Wouldn't it be faster and more fair to just let all blogs in and then weed out the bad ones. That way the whole membership could then report the bad ones to you and it wouldn't just be one or two of you trying to approve everything.
Just an idea.
Thanks for all you do!

Peter: Thank you for your kind offer. We don't have a way to let new approvers into the system at the moment, as soon as we do I'll let you know.

Sydman: Yes, I'm sorry. I hate to think how many support tickets have piled up over the last few months. There is no one to deal with them. Thank you for your support.

Holy: At the moment there are around 3000 blogs waiting to be approved, only 300 are valid. If the spam blogs were let in there would be a flood as word got round. As it happens there is no administration to deal with complaints so even reported blogs aren't being dealt with.

The Lam: Thank you for your support

It does mean a lot to get feedback from everyone. Hopefully something positive will happen soon!

Sorry, but try as I might, I do not understand what BlogExplosion is all about and what purpose it serves.

Why would anyone want their blog "approved", and for what reason? What right has anyone to judge and rate someone elses blog? Personally I don't care whether somebody does or doesn't approve of my blog.

I looked at the BlogExplosion site, and I still don't know what it's purpose is. I'm not being nasty or obtuse, but it all seems pointless to me. Sorry Anji.

Keith: I know it's not everyone's cup of tea

The idea is to see new blogs and new people see yours. The reason for approvals is that we have to get rid of porn blogs, spam blogs, blogs with illegal content and hate blogs. That way members see good quality, real blogs and they can surf in security knowing that if small children are in the room they won't come across anything they wouldn't like them to see. We don't judge people's blogs at all.

Some of my best blogging friends came through BlogExplosion.

This is a very sad situation and I feel for you and all those who are acting in a responsible and positive way to secure a solution.

I feel very fortunate to have my blog approved and I had no idea there were these problems. I do hope it can be turned around for everyone's sake soon.

My support to you and all working hard on this just now

Helen xx

Thanks for the explanation Anji. It all becomes clear now.

I know that when I surf the pages on Blogger by clicking "Next Page" I find a lot of porn and political hate blogs and I get a bit miffed that someone at Google doesn't keep an eye on things and delete the undesirable ones. I do report them, but I noticed that nothings done!

That explains a lot...I would be one of those in the queue wondering at the dysfunctionality of several things on the site. I poked around the forums enough to figure out there were issues, but there didn't seem to be any kind of concise explanation (or I may have missed it). I hope it all works out, as the BlogExplosion concept is a great idea. Guess I can plan on waiting for quite awhile, eh? Thanks for bringing me up to speed with your post :o)
