Question of the week
What would you say to someone who leaves the car engine running while he is putting bottles etc. the recycling bins?

"Can I give you a hand to lift your car into the scrap-metal bin?"

was it a quick one trip stop? in that case I would not have said anything. If it was for 5 or more minutes I would have pointed out that all he was saving by recycling he was spending by keeping his car running.

  3. Wendy; If only I had the courage...

Mary Lou; He was long enough to need to switch off his engine. He also pulled his car right up in front of the bins rather than use a parking space.

  4. I would say, it's good that you are making the effort but carry on trying to be better yet!

Unfortuately, some people believe that they create excessive wear and tear on their car's starter and ignition during frequent and closely-spaced ignition and re-ignition. It would help if environmental PSA's would dispel that myth.

  7. Bella: I'm glad to hear that someone else knows that fact. My husband thought I was making it up.
