Rob took this picture this afternoon, just before we went for a very windy walk. It's a hollyhock from last summer which is still flowering! I'm writing this before going to bed, the temperature outside is 18°C = 64.4°F. Like the title of this post says, it is January 5th.
The New Year we spent in Normandy the roads were lined with dandelions while the whole of the UK was in a deep freeze...
ReplyDeleteIt is extraordinary weather here too this year. The hollyhock is quite something and worth noting. I once remember snow in June in the UK but others seem to have a short memory.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful This is a very good sign :)
ReplyDeleteCaroline: Yes, I've seen roses blooming at christmas too.
ReplyDeleteDoris: It wouldn't surprise me.
A Lady's Life: Do you think so? i just hope we're not going to lose too many plants and insects if the cold weather arrives with a vengence
