Linseed
In the early spring I noticed that the shoots growing in one of the fields looked familiar, flax (or linseed). I was really pleased it was blue, I’d seen fields of white in England. It looks as if the sky has fallen. When Rob took these photos it was just past its best as the wind had picked up. Yesterday it rained and the flowers have nearly all gone

The farms around here all grow Rape. It has lovely yellow flowers, but the smell is absolutely appalling, it's like someone has just peed on the fire. That just describes the smell.

  2. Keith: I hate the smell of oilseed rape, I like your description. The colour always seems false to me too. One of our farmers has planted rape and linseed in stripes, very dramatic!

  3. I've never been around a fire that was peed on. Hummmm, still the pictures are quite beautiful. Loved the visual discription Anji. Quite poetic.

  4. Judith: Thanks for stopping by, are you up early or going to bed late? The photos don't show how lovely it really was. There was no perfume at all.
